Whether
you’re in a mad dash to secure a gift for your brother’s
girlfriend or just want to refresh your usual stack of rings, New
York has a plethora of jewellery shops ranging from the tiny and
tucked-away to the extravagant. We’ve combed through them to find
the best ones.

New York, United States
This Brooklyn-based shop is a favourite among the local creative
crowd, and we can’t get enough of its colourful gemstone rings and
zodiac pendants. If you’re on the hunt for gifts, go for one of the
personalised bracelets, or try matching lockets for yourself and
your sister. You can also shop by gemstone for anyone obsessed with
their star sign (or if you have a particular inclination for
moonstones).

While most of its orders are placed online and the New York
store is closed to the public, Erica Weiner has Brooklyn headquarters at which
you can schedule an appointment for a bespoke viewing of its
pieces. We’re especially partial to its antique items such as
vintage crescent-moon brooches and 40s signet rings, as well as
Erica Weiner originals created by the women-run team.

A millennial-friendly space on Nolita’s Elizabeth Street,
Love Adorned
is chock-full of gemstone-studded pieces – think: pink-sapphire
bracelets and black-diamond earrings. The pieces, whether rose gold
or diamond-encrusted, can be surprisingly affordable and make great
gifts. Itsy-bitsy studs start at around $35.
With locations in California and NYC, MJM’s Cobble Hill and SoHo
shops are, for lack of better words, real gems. The brand’s
one-of-a-kind jewellery – including gold and topaz rings, Ethiopian
opal necklaces and free-form aquamarine jewels – are some of the
most beautiful and unique we’ve seen in the city, and make
unmatched gifts for others (or for yourself, of course).
